Trap Them

Trap Them is a grindcore/hardcore punk band based in Louisville, Kentucky,  Seattle, Washington, and Boston, Massachusetts.  Trap Them's influences include hardcore punk bands, such as Black Flag, Born Against, and Tragedy; metal bands like Dismember and Entombed (whose "buzzsaw" guitar tone create the main guitar sound for Trap Them), and experimental bands like Swans. 

Sayyadina

Sayyadina is a grindcore band from Sweden that formed in 2000.  Members of Sayyadina also play/played in General Surgery, Victims, and Nasum.  

Misery Index

Misery Index is an American deathgrind band formed in 2001 in Baltimore, Maryland.  Misery Index's music is best described as death metal with strong hardcore punk and grindcore influences. Their lyrics tend to be highly critical of prevailing power structures in modern culture, everyday life and the ills of modern society, often coinciding with progressive, radical and anarchic aesthetics. Their band name is derived from the economic indicator of the same name, which was also the namesake of the last album by Assück, from whom Misery Index also draw inspiration.

Venomous Concept

Venomous Concept is a grindcore and hardcore punk band. The band's name is a play on Poison Idea, in the style of name-mangling Japanese hardcore acts. Venomous Concept was formed by Kevin Sharp and Shane Embury in 2004. They were joined by Danny Herrera and Buzz Osborne of the Melvins. Osborne was later replaced by Danny Lilker.  The band is currently working on their third studio album.

Cephalic Carnage

Cephalic Carnage is an American grindcore band formed in 1992 in Denver, Colorado. Cephalic Carnage play a technically proficient deathgrind style, progressively experiment with other genres, and incorporate songs of joke nature into their albums, such as parodies of black metal or metalcore. They refer themselves as "rocky mountain hydro grind".  Cephalic Carnage will be featuring an old school set at Maryland Deathfest 2015, with a set featuring material from their first three albums.

Brutal Truth

Brutal Truth is an American grindcore band from New York City, formed by ex-Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, and Stormtroopers of Death bass guitarist Dan Lilker in 1990. The group disbanded in 1999, but reformed in 2006 and continue to release new music.

General Surgery

General Surgery are a goregrind/death metal band from Sweden.  Formed in 1998, the group split up in 1991.  They were inactive for roughly 11-12 years before reforming.  Released their first full-length album in 2006, seventeen years after forming.

Birdflesh

Birdflesh is a Swedish extreme metal/grindcore band, formed in 1992. The lyrics, members' alter egos, and stage outfits focus on the humorous and absurd. Birdflesh have released four full-length albums and a multitude of split albums and demos.  Birdflesh will be performing their unique brand of Swedish grind to Maryland Deathfest for their fifth appearance at the fest.

P.L.F

P.L.F. (which stands for Pulverizing Lethal Force) is a grindcore band from Houston, Texas.  Until the 2007 full-length "Pulverizing Lethal Force" the band was called Pretty Little Flower. With that album they changed it to the acronym, which now stands for "Pulverizing Lethal Force".

Rottenness

Rottenness is a brutal death metal/grindcore band from Cancun, Mexico.  The group formed in 1994, and were one of the first metal bands from their area to start playing shows around Mexico. After an initial attempt to play MDF in 2005, the band finally made it to the stage in 2010.  Rottenness disbanded early in 2012, only to reform later in the year.
