Cripple Bastards

Cripple Bastards is a grindcore band from Asti, Italy.  Since forming in 1988 in response to a crumbling local hardcore scene, Cripple Bastards have had a long and successful history releasing dozens of albums and EP's, appearing on numerous compilations, and touring internationally.  Cripple Bastards will be making their third Maryland Deathfest appearance in 2014.


Joining Discharge from England, Doom are a highly influential crust punk band. Doom’s most influential music came out between 1987 and 1990, including their Police Bastard 7”, which sold over 20,000 copies. Blending elements of extreme metal, anarcho-punk, and sheer anger, Doom exemplifies crust punk. Noting their focus on social issues and intensity, Doom are considered by some to be a pre-cursor to grindcore. This is their second MDF appearance; their first was in 2011.

Formed in 1996, Needful Things is a Czech grindcore/goregrind band.

Bloody Phoenix

Bloody Phoenix is a grindcore/punk ensemble hails from Los Angeles, California. They have been churning out screaming chunks of punk-flavored goodness since the fall of 2001. 


Nashgul was born in A Coruna (Spain) in late 2001, but it was not until 2003, with the current line-up, when the band started to play what they really wanted to: Straight to the point fucking grindcore influenced by bands like Brutal Truth, Napalm Death, Assück, Terrorizer and Repulsion, with social/political lyrics but avoiding dogmatism and stupid PC attitudes.


Not to be confused with the crust/hardcore punk band from NYC.

Born from the ashes of Majesty, they are not a side project of Terrorizer (as many think incorrectly), but a definite band.  They split up in 1994 and reunited in 2006.

Looking for an Answer

Looking For An Answer is a Death Metal/Grindcore band from Madrid, Spain. They were formed in 1999.


Macabre is a grindcore/death metal band from Chicago, Illinois, and have never had a line-up change. They blend thrash metal, death metal, and grindcore (sometimes with nursery rhymes and folk melodies) to form their own unique style dubbed murder metal. Lyrically, they have a strong focus on serial killers, mass murderers and a touch of sick gore humor. Most lyrics are based upon true stories and are about real infamous personalities.


Nasum (pronunciation [na:sum]) was a grindcore band from Örebro, Sweden formed in 1992. The band released four studio albums, developed into one of Sweden's premier metal acts, and disbanded after December 2004 tsunami killed the band's frontman, Mieszko Talarczyk. The band's name, Latin for "nose", was taken from the horror film "Flesh for Frankenstein".
