Grindcore

S.O.B

S.O.B (sometimes also known as SxOxB, which is an acronym for Sabotage Organised Barbarian, sometimes also known as Sounds/Symphonies of Brutality) formed in 1983 in Osaka, Japan.

Lord Gore

Lord Gore is a death metal/gridcore/goregrind band from Portland, Oregon.  They will be making their first California Deathfest appearance in 2017, and will also be playing at Maryland Deathfest in 2018.

Siege

Siege is a hardcore punk band from Weymouth Massachusetts.  Formed in 1981, they were active in the Boston hardcore scene from 1984 to 1985, reunited briefly in 1991, and reformed again in 2016.  The band has become revered by punk and metal fans and are now regarded as one of hte pioneers of grindcore and powerviolence.

BruceXCampbell

California four-piece BruceXCampbell are a mysterious bunch. BruceXCampbell is a grind/crust band who presumably were quite influenced by the Evil Dead trilogy. (Who wouldn’t be?) They play fast, abrasive music in the vein of Excruciating Terror, Tragedy, and Extreme Noise Terror. This is BruceXCambell’s first MDF appearance.

Skullshitter

Skullshitter are a three piece grindcore band from New York. Formed in 2010, they’re relative newbies to this incarnation of Maryland Deathfest. Skullshitter play fast, angry grindcore- but the death metal, acid-trip vocals are what differentiates them from their grind brethren.  This is their first MDF appearance.

Six Brew Bantha

Six Brew Bantha are visiting Baltimore from Victoria, British Columbia in Canada. Six Brew consists of “three best friends” making “hateful grindcore.”  Their crusty grind assault is fast, angry, and pissed- exactly how you want your hateful music. This is Six Brew Bantha’s first MDF performance.

Priapus

Making their MDF debut, Priapus is a three piece grind band from Greensboro, North Carolina. Born in 2011 and named after a Greek god with a large phallus, this trio blends d-beat and death metal influences with grindcore to create a noisy grind attack. Comparisons to bands like Maruta, Nasum and Assuck are inevitable, but hey, Priapus has never been shy about their influences.

Ground

Ground are a powerviolence/hardcore quartet from New Jersey, formed in 2012. Ground brings fast, in your face, powerviolence relentlessness with a sense of humor and a love for memes. (Their most recent split with Bandit is called Grind Hard with a Vengeance.) They’ll come, beat you down, and leave before the crowd knows what happened. Catch them during their first MDF appearance.

Deranged

Born in Sweden in the early 90s, Deranged are contemporaries with Swedish bands like Grave, Entombed, and Dismember. Deranged’s sound, however, is groovier, faster, more technical-they would be at home playing with bands like Cannibal Corpse and Gorgasm. The cover of their single “…the Confessions Continued” was banned in Germany for being too violent. After several line-up changes and a brief hiatus, Deranged is back and ready to kill.

This is their first MDF appearance.
