Morgoth

Morgoth is a German death metal band that was formed in 1985 by Rüdiger Hennecke and Carsten Otterbach in Meschede. The name was derived from the epithet of the original dark lord Melkor in J.R.R Tolkien's Middle-earth Legendarium.

Dying Fetus

Dying Fetus is an American death metal band originally from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Formed in 1991, the group is known for their consistently hook-laden song structures, characterized by blast beats, complex riffing and hardcore-style breakdowns. Additionally, their reality-based lyrics characterized by political/modern themes are notable in death metal. 

Suffocation

Suffocation is an American death metal band that was formed in 1988 in Long Island, New York.  Suffocation rose to prominence of death metal and created a blueprint for the genre for the 1990s with their 1991 debut album "Effigy of the Forgotten".  The band's raw death metal style uses guttural vocals with a downtuned guitar sound, fast complex guitar riffs and drumming, and a sophisticated sense of songwriting.

Brujeria

Brujeria is a "Mexican-American" extreme metal band formed Los Angeles, California in 1989. Their name comes from the Spanish word for "witchcraft". Their songs, which are sung in Spanish, are focused on Satanism, anti-Christianity, sex, immigration, narcotics smuggling, and politics. Ironically, despite Spanish lyrics, portraying a Mexican image and with a heavy anti-American stance, the majority of the band's members are actually American born, and with some being Swedish or British. The band is not from Tijuana, Mexico regardless of popular belief.

Napalm Death

Napalm Death are an extreme metal band formed in Birmingham, England in 1981.  Napalm Death are credited with defining the grindcore genre by incorporating elements of hardcore punk and death metal, short songs, fast tempos, deep guttural vocals and sociopolitical lyrics. The band's debut album Scum, released in 1987 by Earache Records, proved substantially influential throughout the global metal community.

Autopsy

Formed in 1987 by Chris Reifert and Eric Cutler. Danny Corralles joined in 1988. Dis-banded in 1994, the group has been Awakened by Gore and have returned to continue their brutal assault on the metal scene. 

Morbid Angel

Morbid Angel is an American death metal band based in Tampa, Florida. The band′s songs are complex in arrangement, owing to the considerable technical skills of both Azagthoth and drummer Pete Sandoval, who also played in the grindcore band Terrorizer. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Morbid Angel is the third best-selling death metal band in the United States, with their third album Covenant being the best-selling death metal album of all time with over 127,000 units sold.

Acid Witch

Acid Witch is an American death metal band formed in Detroit, Michigan in 2007. The band's musical style draws from many genres of music including doom metal, stoner metal, psychedelic music and death metal as well as horror films and soundtracks.

Abuse is a brutal death metal/grindcore band formed in 1999 from Vancouver, BC.

Absu

Absu is a black metal band formed in 1990 from Plano, Texas, USA. Their demos and first album leaned towards death metal, but evolved more towards a black metal and thrash metal which includes elements of celtic music and folk music (and later, elements of jazz fusion, progressive rock and psychedelic music) which the band calls "Mythological Occult Metal". Their lyrical themes are esoteric, including Celtic myths and legends, Sumerian myths and legends, alchemy, numerology, magick, weaponry, and sorcery.
