Crust Punk


Disfear is a Swedish crust punk/D-beat band that formed in the early 1990s in Stockholm, Sweden. They have only recorded sporadically over the years. Their current lineup features Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates fame on vocals.  Disfear are considered one of the premier bands in their genre.


Splitter is a Swedish grindcore/crust band.  The group has been together since 2003. 


Phobia is a Grindcore band from Orange County, California.[1] The band was formed in 1990 and is heavily influenced by crust punk and grindcore. Their lyrical content focuses mainly on socio-political issues and left-wing politics.

Lethal Aggression

Lethal Aggression is a crossover hardcore/thrash/punk band from Asbury Park, New Jersey.  The group formed in 1985, split in 1991, and reformed again in 2001.  Currently, the band only contains one original member.

Mass Grave

Mass Grave is a crust/grind band from Vancouver, Canada.  Following in the footsteps of crust punk legends like Disrupt, Doom, and Warcollapse, Massgrave's music and lyrics are politically charged.

Black Breath

Black Breath formed in 2005 in Bellingham, Washington, though the group eventually relocated to Seattle.  Their sound is heavily influenced by crossover thrash predecessors such as Entombed and Dismember.  After recording serveral demos and completing some underground tours, they finally released their first EP in 2008.  After appearing on the Maryland Deathfest line up twice in the past several years, they are returning to the west coast for California Deathfest in 2016.

From Ashes Rise

From Ashes Rise is an American Crust punk band, formed in Nashville, Tennessee in the mid-'90s. They helped define the gloom-heavy thrash sound attributed to groups like His Hero is Gone and Tragedy by combining a dynamic, eerie open chord dissonace with a down-tuned power-chord-laden heaviness. Along with Tragedy, the group relocated to Portland, Oregon in the early 2000s.


Wolfbrigade (formerly known as Wolfpack) are a Swedish D-beat crust punk band, formed in 1995.  Their sound is a blend of Swedish hardcore punk and death metal, and they are considered to be pioneers in the Swedish crust punk/d-beat movement.  

Extinction of Mankind

Extinction of Mankind (also referred to as EOM) is a British crust punk band.  Since their inception in 1992, EOM has recorded split albums and toured with some of the premier crust punk acts of the past two decades, including DOOM, Phobia, Misery, Skit Sytem, and Wolfbrigade.  Various obstacles have kept the group from extensive song writing or performing in the past several years, however in 2013 EOM announced that they were working on a new LP.  

Excruciating Terror

Excruciating Terror are a grindcore/powerviolence band from Los Angeles, California.  Formed in 1990, Excruciating Terror was very influential on the west coast grindcore and powervoilence scenes during the early and mid 1990's.  Though the group disbanded in the late 90's, and has been inactive since, members have gone on to play in other groups such as Bloody Phoenix and Endless Demise, and Nausea.  The group made their first Maryland Deathfest, and first east coast performance in many years in 2014, and will be bringing the violence back to California for CDF 2016.
