The Ruins of Beverast

The Ruins of Beverast is a German black metal project from Aachen, Germany created by ex-Nagelfar drummer Alexander von Meilenwald in 2003.  "Beverast" is von Meilenwald's own derivation of the word "Bifröst" influenced by the old Norse term for the bridge between Midgard and Asgard.  The Ruins of Beverast have taken put their own unique twist on traditional elements of black metal by blending them with hypnotic/atmospheric components such as choral singing.  Their fourth full-length album was released in 2013, and they will be making their first Maryland Deathfest appearance in 2014.
